Our new site has more detailed pricing information, galleries, information about our different session types, and our updated polices. And not only do have a fancy flash version, there is a version for the iPhone so if you visit http://www.bubblegumtree.com on your iphone you'll see a version of the site optimized for your phone!
Over the last two years we have been offering public group photography classes for moms that are looking for knowledge on how to get more out of their cameras. However, as they year progressed last year we found that more and more people were looking for either a private class, or a group class with a group of friends. So this winter and spring instead of trying to offer the public classes that don't always meet with your schedule, we are going to focus on the private individual or group photography classes.
Interested in a private individual class? The private one-on-one photography class is a great way for a mom to get help with her specific camera. We'll cover the basics of what goes into an exposure, go over the features of your camera, and suggest when to use certain features of your camera to allow you to take better pictures. We'll also cover the differences between different lenses and which lens is best during different circumstances. A three hour class at your home or mine is $250. Contact me to schedule a class date/time that will work for you!
Interested in a private group class? These were super popular during the fall! Get a group of your friends together for a mom's night out at someone's house, or a daytime class while the kids are at school. We'll cover:
For 2010 we are returning to our roots and going back to a traditional portrait photography model. Therefore, effective immediately, all new sessions booked will have our new 2010 pricing in affect.
The overview of the new pricing:
$200 Weekday Session Fee (for full length sessions, 25-35 proofed images)
$250 Weekend Session Fee (for full length sessions, 25-35 proofed images)
$100 Weekday Session Fee (for mini sessions, 10-15 proofed images) *not available on weekends
(Location fees may apply for certain locations with the Houston metro area.)
The session fee includes the time and talent of the photographer and does not include any digital files or prints. After the session, the best images will be edited and presented in an online gallery. Orders for prints or digital files can be made via the online gallery, email, or an in-person ordering session.
Print and digital packages start at $495 for a full length session, and $265 for a mini session. Ala carte items start at $45 and may be purchased only after the purchase of package.
We are putting the finishing touches on our new website which will feature a new gallery and updated pricing and policies. Also, please note that we have decided to discontinue the associate program and will no longer be offering the Digital by Design sessions. At least one digital file is included with all of our packages and most include a mix of digital and printed images.
All future sessions will be held with the owner, Jessica Grieves.
Well, we survived the holiday rush. The last batch of proofs were sent out on Saturday. And this week we are finishing up our administrative stuff like shipping disks and orders to clients, filing, and accounting. Then we are taking a few weeks "off" to catch up on the home stuff we've been putting off during the busy Fall, and to spend some time visiting with our family. Like these two cuties...my kiddos!
So, we'll be setting the phones to voicemail, and responding to email sporadically over the next few weeks. We'll also be making some updates to our website including revised pricing, policies, and portrait session information. We'll be sending out announcements to our mailing list as well.
So we'll be back at our desks ready to roll for 2010 on January 11th (that's 01-11-10, what an awesome date). Have a fantastic holiday and see you in the new year.
As many of you know, I was out of the office 11/20 - 11/30 to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday with family in Alabama. Of course, this has lead to a backlog of email and voicemail messages in addition to LOTS of photos to edit. Our associate photographers continued to have sessions over the week while I was away.
Many of the messages have been to know when proofs will be ready for holiday sessions. In order to be as efficient as possible to get everyone their image files, if you are a Digital by Design customer you will receive a download link allowing you to download your high resolution files as soon as they are ready. The disk with the archived files will follow in the mail however the download file contains the same high resolution images so you will be able to order your holiday cards and gift prints. Keep in mind that it normally takes us 2-3 weeks to edit portrait sessions however as we get closer to the holidays we are making every effort to get sessions turned around more quickly. The following is our projected schedule for delivery of holiday proofs...

Our recent 15 minute Micro Mini sessions were such a big hit that we've decided to do one more day of them this holiday season....on Saturday November 7th. We'll be offering our $99 sessions at three locations: Creekside Park in The Woodlands, the Bubblegum Tree Loft near downtown Houston, and Town and Country Village in Houston. Please note: Micro Mini Sessions are available only for a single child with our without parents included. Siblings require booking an additional session time or consider a full length portrait session. One of the questions we are most frequently asked is "what does it mean when you say the photos are hand edited?".
Well, when we choose the best images from the session then go through each one individually to enhance it. This means sharpening, adjusting the color, brightening, and editing out scratches, bug bites, and other little problem areas.
Above is an example of a photo that is straight from the camera, and one that is hand edited. The edited version has been sharpened, had the color adjusted, and had scratches removed from the baby's face, and marks from her arm where the shirt she had been wearing before had been a little snug. Click on the photo to see a larger version of it.
So when we say that we are hand editing, this gives you an idea of what we are doing with your photos which adds the time to our processing and adds value to your portraits!
We are thrilled to announce two special days: September 30th at our downtown Loft, and October 5th at Market Street in The Woodlands, for mini portrait sessions featuring the tutus from Baby Cha Cha Boutique.
